System and Network Administrator

JCA Technologies is looking to add an experienced System and Network Administrator to join our IT team located in Winnipeg. As the System and Network Administrator you will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring the servers (on premise and cloud), network, security, and communication systems. He/She sees to it that the systems are up and running and regularly maintained.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Install, configure and maintain on-premise servers, virtual servers and cloud servers (AWS).
  • Administer and maintain Windows servers.
  • Administer and maintain Linux servers and/or Xenserver.
  • Perform and maintain server backup.
  • Maintain on-premise and cloud backup and perform data restore when needed.
  • Administer the Exchange server and email.
  • Administer ERP application and database.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement contingencies for server and network system downtime.
  • Develop and prepare IT standard operating procedures.
  • Perform server operating system updates.
  • Perform enterprise application and database upgrades.
  • Administer IT system monitoring tool.
  • Coordinate with vendors on the maintenance and repair of server and network hardware.
  • Administer and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, switches, firewall and routers).
  • Maintain and implement efficiencies in the LAN and WAN.
  • Administer and maintain IT security system.
  • Configure and maintain the phone system and user accounts.
  • Develop the Network and IT Communication procedures.
  • Develop and maintain IT infrastructure diagram.
  • Administer file server, domain users and DHCP.
  • Administer VPN user account and security.


  • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in enterprise application (ERP) support.
  • Experience in enterprise databases (MSSSQL and MySQL) support.
  • Working knowledge of Web server (IIS, Apache).
  • Working knowledge of cloud services (AWS).
  • Experience in virtualization system such as Hyper-V and VirtualBox.
  • Working knowledge of Docker implementation.
  • Experience in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VLAN and VPN.
  • Working knowledge of Web server (IIS, Apache).
  • Experience in VoIP/SIP technology.
  • Working knowledge of routing, policy route, firewall policy, IPSec/IDS.
  • Working knowledge of IT and Cyber Security systems.

IT Tech Support

JCA Technologies is looking for someone to become part of our IT team handling tech support in Winnipeg. Tech Support is responsible for first-level IT helpdesk support on computer (HW/SW), printer, tablet, other peripheral equipment, communication, and network needed to run the business. He/She installs, maintains, tests, and recommends computers and other user equipment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Install and test communication and peripheral equipment necessary to run company systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors on the purchase, maintenance, and repairs of computer and peripheral equipment.
  • Evaluate, test, and control new PC software, Operating systems, hardware, and client-server applications, and take charge in the installation of the said technologies.
  • Monitor and recommend hardware upgrades to conform to the system and user requirements.
  • Assist with the testing of internal application and projects external/client technical support.
  • Provide desktop, printer, and user equipment support (on premise and remote).
  • Maintains PC and peripheral equipment inventory.
  • Maintain software/license inventory.
  • Perform first-level support for ERP and other business system applications.
  • Assist with the network and system administration.
  • Conduct IT-related trainings.


  • Proficient in Windows operating systems.
  • Proficient in MSOffice suite and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience in desktop, printer, and peripheral equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting.
  • Experience in desktop application support and maintenance.
  • Completed courses in computer troubleshooting and maintenance.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be patient and pleasant to the users in performing his support services whether on-site or remote.
